PRICE £1900-£2950

Bremont was started by two British brothers, Nick and Giles English, so that they might combine the two passions that they share – aviation and timepieces. The story behind the watches and the brothers only add to the feeling that this is an aviation watch brand here to stay.

The two brothers loved making all kinds of things in their father’s workshop. Clocks were one of them and they won a science competition for one such piece. They learnt to fly with their father (a renowned display pilot). Then tragedy struck in 1995. Nick and Giles’ father, Euan, died in a horrifc crash whilst practicing for a display in a Harvard. Nick was also in the aircraft and suffered multiple injuries breaking over 20 bones. Nick made a full recovery and the following year they flew to France from their home in England to meet some friends.

After a forced landing in a field they were given wonderful hospitality by a farmer who shared the same passions for aircraft and watches – he had been a pilot in WW2. Nick still wore his father’s watch and they spoke about their loss and got talking about watches. Ten years later after realising their dream of making watches the brothers decided they would honour the chap who had entertained them by naming the watch after him. His name was Bremont.

So here’s a watch with history, though it’s a new brand. It’s a history that lifts the heart and whilst the watches are Swiss made they also have a hand in England and a hand in France.
