FRENCH company Robin Aircraft has started making new aircraft again. The first order for a new DR400/120 Dauphin will be delivered this January to Bassin de Briey aéroclub- its 19th Robin in 40 years.
The company, now called Robin New Aircraft, is being run by Daniel Triques who has a long history with Robin, first as a designer, then metal workshop management and from there to plant management. "He knows all aspects of the business and every man in the business," said a Robin spokesperson.
"In June 2011, Daniel formed a manufacturing team, hand-picked from experienced craftsmen and engineers," he continued.
Robin New Aircraft is based on a close partnership contract with CEAPR, the holder of the Robin type certificate. In September EASA awarded Robin Aircraft a brand new Production Organisation Approval (POA). The plan is to produce two aircraft per month from November.
An option on new aircraft is a Garmin G500 glass cockpit - also available as a retrofit on older aircraft.
