Do you dream of flying an open cockpit biplane across beautiful English countryside, banking into the sunset, making an approach across a lake and landing on a private grass airstrip in front of one of the world's most famous stately homes?
Send To A Friend
Of course you do! That's exactly what many Tiger Moth owners and their friends will be doing this August... and now you have the chance to join this wonderful, very English event.
The annual de Havilland Moth Club International Tiger Moth Rally at Woburn Abbey in Bedfordshire is one of the world's best kept aviation secrets. Tiger Moths fly into Woburn, land on a strip first used by Stirling and Lancaster bombers during WW2 - well away from the famous animal park - and then there's a convivial meeting.
The event combines flying displays, club flying competitions, vintage and classic aircraft and cars, with an authentically ‘old English’ atmosphere which
encapsulates all that is great about Britain.
The vintage de Havilland biplanes and other classic types will be on show in front of the club ‘Members Enclosure’ which recollects the golden age of aviation in the 1930s, when flying clubs across Great Britain hosted summer ‘at homes’ for pilots and guests.
Ticket prices ‘on the day’ will cost £10 per person on Saturday, £15 on Sunday, with accompanied under-16s admitted free. Those who take advantage of the opportunity to book online can save up to £10 per person as the respective daily prices are reduced to £7 and £9, or a special weekend ticket can be purchased for just £15.
