Cambridge business aviation centre

CAMBRIDGE Airport has a new name and a new business aviation centre.

The new name in full is Marshall Airport Cambridge, named after the family firm which started the airport, still owns it, and which has developed into Marshall Aerospace, a leading aircraft modification, maintenance, repair and overhaul company.

"This is the best-equipped private airport in the world," said Michael Marshall, chairman of the company at the opening of the new business centre today (4 December).

The facilities include a brand new hangar/workshop for business aviation aircraft, a luxurious and all-new terminal building for passengers and crew. The terminal building includes offices, a lounge and meeting rooms for passengers, as well as full rest facilities for flight crew.

The new Marshall Business Aviation Centre was opened by Trevor Esling, vice-president of Cessna International Sales. Marshall is an authorised Cessna Service Centre, handling Citation jets.
